Four Generations of
100% Pure Maple Syrup
About Us
White Meadows Farms has been in the Bering Family since 1937. After a few years of establishing themselves on the land, the first generation owner — Adam Bering, decided to harvest some sap and make maple syrup during the winter of 1940 with his son, Gasper. Three generations later, the Bering family still pours their heart and soul into crafting the very best maple syrup from the sap they collect from over 150 acres of sugar bush in Niagara.

Crafted with Care
We make four grades of 100% Pure Maple Syrup. It’s commonly thought that these grades refer to the quality of the syrup or how it’s boiled. That’s not the case here. All of our grades are crafted with the same care, are 100% pure and equally nutrient rich. The weather at time of sap collection affects the nature of the sap, producing the syrups’ four distinct flavours.
Grades of Maple Syrup
- GOLDEN – Delicate Taste. A sweet and buttery, syrup with gentle maple undertones and a clear gold colour. We use our Golden syrup to make our sugar candies and maple taffy on snow!
- AMBER – Rich Taste. Our most popular syrup! We recommend this grade for anyone purchasing syrup as a gift or souvenir due to its familiar, distinct maple flavour and colour.
- DARK – Robust Taste. This versatile syrup is a great choice to pour over pancakes for anyone wanting more maple body. Dark also holds its flavour well when used in oven-dishes like squash, as a meat marinade, baked into pastries, or drizzled over desserts.
- VERY DARK – Strong Taste. Almost black in colour with an intense maple flavour. Available exclusively as a tasting sample during in-store visits, tours, or as part of our Four Flavours Sample Pack and At Home Sugar Bush Experience Box

FAQ
Which Colour of Syrup is the Best?
Let your taste buds pick their favourite! Visit one of our stores or join us for a tour so you can decide the best fit for you. We generally recommend Amber as a top pick for gifts and souvenirs and Dark if you’re looking to use syrup in cooking and baking.
Which Colour is the Sweetest?
All grades of 100% Pure Maple Syrup share the same sugar content. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be 100% pure. However, your taste buds may decide one tastes sweeter than another.
